Candy Freeman Evans, age 70 of Etowah passed to her heavenly home on Thursday, May 7, 2020 at Parkwest Hospital in Knoxville.
She was a native and lifelong resident of McMinn County and attended the Church of God of Prophecy. Candy was retired from Head Start after 40 years, she loved singing karaoke, camping by the river and spending time with family and friends.
Candy is preceded in death by her parents, J.D. Freeman and Emma McCormick Freeman; a daughter, Teresa Bergman; two brothers, Morris Freeman and Lawrence Freeman.
She is survived by one son, Tim Roderick (Angie Boswell) from Englewood; four grandchildren, Amber Roderick, Stacie Roderick, Jamie Roderick and Cecilia Roderick; four great grandchildren, Samuel Thompson, Kevin “Bo” Roderick, Dakota Marston and Sara Jones; one sister, Doris Curley of Athens; her fiancé Eddie Derrick of Englewood; several nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
A graveside service will be conducted on Tuesday, May 12, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. at the Coghill Baptist Church Cemetery in Etowah.
the family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Monday, May 11,2020 at the funeral home.
