Carl Dewayne Cross

Carl Dewayne Cross, age 57 of Sweetwater, Tennessee, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 17, 2023.

Carl loved his daughters more than life itself; and he will be greatly missed by many.  He loved his dog Susie, being outdoors, camping, fishing, bonfires, and doing anything with his daughters.  

He was a jack of all trades, doing mainly construction, and heating and air all his life.  

He enjoyed a cold one with his friends and family and loved laughing and telling stories.  He loved giving his girls hell, and they would give it right back to him.  To know Carl was to know love.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eva and Edgar Cross of Blue Ridge, Georgia; sister, Kathy Clark of Blue Ridge, Georgia; and grandchildren, Alissa Stiles, Zachery Derrick, and Zachery Cooper Jr.

Carl is survived by his sister, Linda Willingham; his brother,  Stanley Cross; his beloved daughters, Christina Stiles  of Madisonville, Tennessee, Courtney Cross of Hixson, Tennessee, Brittany Cooper of Hixson, Tennessee,  and Kendra Ammons of Dalton, Georgia;  and grandchildren,  Kayleigh Stiles, Isaiah Stiles,  Alexis Derrick, Hannah Stiles,  Joslyn Derrick,  Natalie Cooper, Issac Cooper,  Landon Stiles,  Kilah Stiles, Johnathan Cooper, Brayden Stiles, and Karson Sisk; and many friends and family.

A celebration of his life will be conducted at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, in the chapel of Serenity Funeral Home and Cremation Center of Etowah with Donnie Willingham speaking. 

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home prior to the service.
