Charlie B. Hurst

Charles E. “Charlie B.” Hurst, age 58, passed away Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at Turkey Creek Medical Center in Knoxville. Charlie B. enjoyed being outside walking. He was passionate about God and he was the founder of “Do it God Ministry”, he also enjoyed detailing and washing cars. Charlie B. worked many years at Waffle House, where he was quite a cook. He loved breakdancing with his kids and grandkids. He was a great person in the community for all people.

Charlie B. was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley A. Hurst White.

He is survived by his daughter, Ciare Porter of Athens; aunt, Vivian Parks of Athens; uncle, Dewey (Cecil) Hurst of Cleveland; grandchildren, Da-Ziyah Porter, Jay-Onah Sharp, Francis Sharp, all of Athens; special friends, George McClure, John Johnson, Dondi Edmonds, all of Athens; and several cousins and many friends.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 12:00 p.m -1:00 p.m. and Memorial Service at 1:00 p.m. Friday, August 13, 2021 at Serenity of Etowah Funeral Home, in the Chapel, with Minister George McClure officiating. There will be a private family burial.
