Diana Lynn Truelove

Diana L. Truelove, age 73 of Etowah, TN passed away peacefully Monday, February 14, 2022. She was at home, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born September 1, 1948 in Denver, CO, she was the daughter of the late Frank Dudley and Ruth Clarke.

Diana worked for Mountain Bell Phone Company in Denver, CO for 17 years before moving to Tennessee. She worked for Walmart as a personnel manager in Dalton, GA before retiring. Diana recently received commemoration for completing 25 years of service with the Etowah Lions Club where she also served as the club’s first female president. Diana was an elder of the First Presbyterian Church of Etowah and later a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Madisonville. In her free time, Diana enjoyed traveling with her family, playing cards with her bridge club, and spending time with her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband of 46 years, Virgil Truelove, she is survived by her son, Danny Truelove (Beth Kirk Truelove) of Maryville, TN; stepdaughters, Theresa Truelove (Corey Mackerel) of Glenwood Springs, CO and Donna Stanton (Dr. John Stanton) of Broomfield, CO; grandchildren, Hadley and Wesley Truelove; brothers, Dick Clarke (Barb Clarke) of Frisco, TX and Don Clarke (Jeri Clarke) of Indian Land, SC; bother-in-laws, R.C. Truelove of Englewood, TN and Vernon Truelove (Helen Truelove) of Chattanooga, TN; sister-in-law, Fran Fijal of Englewood, TN; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Diana was preceded in death by her in-laws, Leonard and Roxie Truelove of Etowah, TN; son, Steven Gee of Denver, CO.

At the family's request, Serenity Funeral Home in Etowah will host a gathering of friends and family on Saturday, February 19^th from 12:00 - 2:00 PM with a brief service to follow.
