Earl Verlin Williams, Sr.

November 28, 1941 — April 26, 2022

Earl “EV” Williams, Sr., age 80, of Riceville, TN passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, April 26, 2022. He was retired after 30 years at CSX Railroad and a Veteran of the U.S. Army. After he retired, EV and Sandra traveled the United States – Once on a trip out West, his grandchildren bought a globe, so they could pinpoint their location. He loved his family and loved the Lord. He was a member of Hiwassee Baptist Church.

Earl was preceded in death by his parents, Fred L and Josie Williams; sisters, Betty Akins, Glendora Hickman and Jean (Charles) Petty; brothers, George and Ralph Williams.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Sandra Presswood Williams of Riceville; sons, Verlin Williams of Cleveland and Roger (Tiffany) Williams of Tavernier, FL; daughter, Melinda (Jimmy) Flowers of Charleston; sister, Sue (Dwayne) Feezell of Philadelphia, TN; grandchildren, Brandon (Kayla) Flowers, Christopher Flowers, Dakota Williams and Kate Williams; great grandchildren, Bradden (Skylar) Flowers, Annlea Flowers, Colton Goins and many friends.

Family and friends will meet at Old Salem Baptist Church Cemetery on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. with Reverends Stanley Liner and Bo Coleman officiating. Pallbearers will include: Brandon Flowers, Bradden Flowers, Christopher Flowers, Jeff Jenkins, Greg Jenkins, Michael McCallie and Rico Mayfield.
