Frankie Mae Tallent

Frankie Mae Tallent, age 77, of Athens, departed this life on Friday, June 18, 2021. She was a member of the West End Baptist Church and enjoyed fellowship and singing whenever the doors were open. Frankie never met a stranger and she loved her family more than anything. She also adored her dog China.  

Frankie is preceded in death by her husband, Harold Junior Tallent; parents, Garnie Quillen, Sr. and Nancy Quillen; siblings, Garnie Quillen, Jr., Betty Ann Quillen, Roy and Ray Quillen.

She is survived by her children, Jimmy and Denise Tallent of Decatur, Ricky and Jill Tallent of Cleveland, Melissa Burrell of Englewood, Sonya and Kirk Winford of Athens and April and Michael McDougal of Cleveland; siblings, Marie Wilson and Edna Riddle of Muldrow, OK, Mary Miller, Helen and Roy Lethco of Sweetwater, Wilma Torbett of Athens, Brenda West of Madisonville, Sharon and Dean Johnson of Philadelphia, Connie and Jerry Shirk of Englewood; sister-in-law, Joyce Quellen of Madisonville; aunt, Leona Mullins of North Vernon, IN; fourteen grandchildren and twenty-three great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and extended family and a host of friends.

Family will be receiving friends at Serenity Funeral Home – Etowah in the chapel on Sunday, June 20, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the chapel, Monday, June 21, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverends Shane White and Jerry Shirk officiating. Interment will immediately follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
