Grace Elaine Locke

Grace Locke, age 61, was a lifelong resident of Etowah. She passed away at her home on December 3, 2020, after a lingering battle with cancer. Grace loved the outdoors, hiking and horses. She enjoyed spending time with family and her grandchildren and great-grandchild. She was known for having the best homemade biscuits.

Grace was preceded in death by her husband Dwight Martin; father and mother Bob and Retha Shankle and brother Timmy Shankle.

She was survived by her children Jessi Knox and Free Shankle; grandchildren Kaylyn and Macy Knox, Kallie and Titus Benton and Plez (Erika Bland) Shankle; great-grandchildren Jada and Eliannah Benton; Sisters Zebbie (David) Discepoli, Kem Taylor and Deidre (Pat) Ensley; brothers Bobby (Yvonne) Shankle and Paul Shankle and special friend Chris Young.

A very special thanks to Hospice of Chattanooga and Kim Beck, RN for their remarkable care. 

Memorial service will be held on Sunday, December 13, 2020 at 2:00 pm in the chapel at Serenity of Etowah with Reverend Wayne Hickman officiating. Will receive family and friends between 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm. Service will be live streamed on the Serenity of Etowah Facebook page.
