Until again
Nevers and lasts
Intertwine with faded pasts.
It’s the ache and pull of old, long overdue.
For an encroaching trip no one wants to use.
And the sounds of stories dancing about the sky,
That linger for a while and while feelings are high.
Yet as time abounds and tumbles to no end,
The edge of the dawn becomes a nearing friend.
We wait our turn for a familiar grasp,
Of loved ones from lives of future and last.
The final cliff, the ending of a sentence.
For final goodbyes and hopeful remembrance.
How our souls decide to age
As seconds forget to embrace their days.
Yet ease is not familiar to our sounding rage
Of discontent at the final page.
So, write we will
And write we have
A life worth lived
And love worth had.
Forget me not.
Please don’t forget me still.
We have loved and we have lost
We are and forever will.
