Katty Sue Bookout

Katty “Sue” Bookout born March 15, 1944 passed away on February 11, 2025.

Sue was born in Happy Valley, Tennessee and spent most of her life in Maryville, Tennessee. She worked 30+ years at the old Levi’s factory and spent her later years as a caregiver for the elderly where she found a great passion caring for others. She was also known for the gardens she would grow year in and out with her husband Jim. She spent a lot of time in the kitchen and canning all her goods.
Weeks before her death after a long battle with dementia and heart failure, she knew her time was coming and was ready to meet her savior. She told everyone how she was prepared and “oh well, if you live to be 100 life is short”
Sue is proceeded in death by parents; Lilly and Floyd Sellars, siblings; Willie Hipps, Harvey ‘Kay’ Sellars, Ed Sellars, Dale Melson, Margie Chambers, Maggie Beasley, and Johnny Watkins, Nephews; Matthew and Scott Sellars.
She is survived by husband; Jim Bookout. Son; Scott (Liz) Bookout. Grandchildren Hannah and Caleb Bookout. Great grandchildren; Blair Bookout and Jaycee Fetner.
A celebration of life and fellowship will be held at Knob Road missionary Baptist church (2023 knob rd, Maryville TN, 37803) on Saturday, March 1st at 11 am.
