Lawrence Lamar Smith

October 5, 1971 — March 1, 2025

Lamar Smith, 53 of Etowah died Saturday, March 1, 2025. The son of the late Joe and Shirley Kirk Smith he was also preceded in death by his brothers, Hugh Martin Smith, Hershel Eugene Smith, Travis B. Smith, Richard M. Smith, Joe Lewis Harper, and his nephew, Demetrius Cox.

 Lamar loved sports, especially football. He was a huge Dallas Cowboys fan. Lamar also enjoyed riding through the mountains.

 Lamar enjoyed spending time with his family, adored his children and grandchildren, and loved his many friends.

Survivors include his children, Anika Smith, Athens, Kiera Smith, Athens, Bradley Smith, Knoxville, and Chelsea Smith, Lenoir City; grandchildren, Breah and Kameron; sisters, Greta (Willie) Griffin, Athens, Darlene (Ray) Shelton, Warner Robbins, GA; brothers, William D. (Jeanette) Smith, Etowah, and Christopher (Crystal) Smith, Etowah, and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be on Friday, March 14, 2025 in the chapel of Poole Funeral Home Etowah with Rev. Kevin Harris and Rev. Franky Williams officiating. Interment will follow in New Zion Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12 – 2 P.M., Friday, March 14, 2025 at Poole Funeral Home, Etowah.
