Lee Roy Atkins

Lee Roy Atkins, age 86 of Athens, departed this life on Saturday, December 28, 2019 at Life Care Center of Athens. Born on May 10, 1933 in Monroe County to the late Robert and Edith Watson Atkins, he lived in McMinn County for the past 47 years and was associated with Jehovah’s Witness.  He was a well- known mechanic and body man for Roderick’s and Bypass Motors.

 In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ursell Atkins and nephew, Mike Atkins.

Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years, Wanda Mae Kyle Atkins; children, Kimberly(Danny) Dees of Ocklawaha, Florida, Randall Lee Atkins of Summerfield, Florida and Kyle Atkins of Athens. Grandchildren, great-grandchildren and several extended family members also survive.

A Memorial Service will be conducted at 2p.m. Saturday, January 4, 2019 in the chapel of Serenity Funeral Home with Brother Ted Lewis officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the memorial at the funeral home.
