Leroy Baxter

Leroy Baxter, age 78, born April 12^, 1942, a native of McMinn County, TN, went home to be with his Lord on April 27, 2020.  He had also lived in Cherokee County, NC for several years and was retired from Webb’s Heating and Air of Athens.  He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend.

Leroy was preceded in death by his mother, Martha Lou Baxter; a brother James (Jr) Baxter; and a sister Evelyn Hembree Bunch.

Left behind is his wife, Fleda Baxter of Englewood; one son Johnny Baxter of Englewood; two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Chris  Bryant of Louisville, KY; Brenda and Dean Looney of Englewood, TN; five grandchildren, Chris, Casey, Laura, Ashley, and Jessica, and twelve great grandchildren.  His brothers and sisters-in-law are, Kenneth and Wanda Baxter of Athens; Don and Kathy Baxter of Chattanooga; Eddie and Nellie Baxter of Englewood and Billy Baxter of Athens; one sister and brother-in-law, Thelma and Daniel Robinson of Athens; and several aunts, nieces, nephews and friends.

A Graveside Service will held Saturday, May 2, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at the Hampton Cemetery in Englewood with Pastor Wayne Lee officiating and Christopher Burris, Kenneth Baxter, Don Baxter, Dalton Burris, Colton Burris, and Jonas Tudor will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday, May 1, 2020, while adhering to Health and Government regulations.
