Lois Melissa Dodson Tompkins

Lois Melissa Dodson Tompkins, was born to Noah and Sarah Pike Hicks on February 16, 1938, in Polk County, TN. She passed away on Tuesday, February 7, 2023. Lois was a member of the Everlasting Life Baptist Church in Englewood. She loved teaching the children in AWANA. You could always find her gardening or canning, she had a skill with needlepoint and quilting.  

Lois was preceded in death by her husbands, Charles Edward Dodson, Sam Wilson and William Edward Tompkins; brother, Henry L. Hicks.

She is survived by her son, Charles (Bonnie) Dodson; step-son, Billy Tompkins of Mingo Junction, OH; 6 brothers, Isaac (Faye) Hicks of Durham, NC, Billy Hicks of Etowah, Joe (Willa) Hicks of Sweetwater, Johnny (Carol) Hicks of Cohutta, GA, Gene (Tracy) Hicks of Cleveland, Dean (Vickie) Hicks of Friendsville, TN; 4 sisters, Gracie (Boyd) Harville of Crossville, Josephine Farrel of Calhoun, TN, Geneva (Kenneth) Morris of Etowah, and Jimmie (Bill) Hamilton of Cleveland.

Family will welcome friends for visitation Sunday, February 12, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel. Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m. with Eric Peters officiating with interment immediately following at Meadow Fork Cemetery.
