Luther "L.A." Hicks

 Luther “L.A.” Hicks, age 88 of Delano, passed away on December 20, 2018, at his residence. Born on December 27, 1929 to the late William Claude and Mary Etta Hicks, he was a native and lifelong resident of Polk County and of the Baptist faith. L.A. retired from Maytag after several years of service and loved fishing, spending time outdoors, and spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Edmondson and a nephew, Darel Hicks.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 68 years, Frankie Hicks of Delano; daughter, Kathy(Roger) Sanford of Delano; grandson, Max Bull of Delano; sister, Mary Catherine (Vernie) Taylor of Cleveland; and  a nephew, Steve Taylor of Cleveland.

 A Celebration of Life and Home going for L.A. Hicks will be held at 3p.m. Sunday, December 22, 2018, from the chapel of Serenity Funeral Home with Brother Charles Bain officiating. Interment will immediately follow in Green Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. on Sunday prior to the service at the funeral home.
