Lynn Williams

August 5, 1931 — June 4, 2019

Lynn Williams, age 87, of Etowah, departed this life on Tuesday morning, June 4, 2019 at his residence. Born on August 5, 1931 in Lamar, Tennessee to the late Bliss and Thelma Williams, he had lived in McMinn County since 1964 and was a member of Athens Church of Christ. Lynn served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and retired from CSX Railroad after 30 plus years of service. Lynn loved sports, country music, Jeopardy, and most of all, he loved his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Jack and Raymond Williams; sister, Frances Williams; and first wife, Gail Bradford Williams.

Survivors include his loving wife, Barbara Williams of Etowah; children, Donna(David) Cantrell of Etowah, David(Julie)Williams of Kingsport, Tracey Poston of Etowah, Mike(Sheila)Tallent of Athens, Brian(Beth) Tallent of Franklin, and Cathy(Joe)Hooper of Ooltewah; grandchildren, Benjamin Cantrell, Nicholas(Cassie) Cantrell, Kelsey Williams, Hannah Williams, Laura(Bill) Holaday, Jennifer(Allen)Peters, and Katy Tallent;  and great-grandchildren, Raegan Peters , Nora Holaday and several extended family and friends.

A Private family service will be held at a later date on Spivey Mountain.
