Marilyn Newberry Sparks

Marilyn Newberry Sparks, age 81, of Etowah, departed this life on Thursday, March 21, 2019 at her residence. Born on March 4, 1938 to the late Ed and Irene Epperson Newberry, she was a native and lifelong resident of McMinn County and a member of New Bethel Baptist Church. She loved spending time with her family especially her grandkids.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Thomas F. Sparks; son, James E. Sparks; and a brother, Stephen Newberry.

Survivors include her children, Charles E. (Mary ) Sparks of Oak Ridge and Hayley Lowery of Etowah; grandchildren, Linsey(Zack) Lanier, Brooke Sparks, Brandi Sparks, Zack Poteet, Bradley Sparks, and Briar McKinney; and a great- grandchild, Jude; sister, Teresa (Michael) Panel of Tampa, Florida;  and brothers, Tim(Genelle) Newberry  and John E. Newberry,Jr. both of Etowah. Several nieces, nephews, and other extended family also survive.

A Graveside service will be held at 2p.m. Saturday, March 23, 2019 from the New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery with Brother Wendell Puett officiating.

There will be no formal visitation at the funeral home.
