Mary "Cat" Taylor

Mary Catherine “Cat” Taylor, age 88, of Cleveland passed away from lingering Dementia illness. Enjoyed being outdoors, camping, fishing and going to flea markets. Cat enjoyed mowing grass with her husband on their, his and her riding mowers and she loved working in her flowers.

She was preceded in death by her son, Darel Hicks; father and mother, Claude and Etta Hicks; sister, Betty Edmonson; brother, L.A. Hicks, several cousins, aunt and uncles.

She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Vernie Taylor of Cleveland; son and ex-wife, Steve (Wilma) Taylor of Cleveland, their little dog Buddy and many friends.

Family will receive friends Saturday, January 8, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. – 9 p.m. at Serenity Funeral Home in Etowah Chapel. Funeral service will be held Sunday, January 9, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel, with Pastor Tazz Reid officiating. Interment to follow at Campground Cemetery in Polk County. Pallbearers include Charles Orr, Aaron Parker, James Dobbs, Roger Taylor, Chuck Ingram and Bruce DiBernardo.
