Matthew William Sellars

Matthew was born November 3, 1988 and died age 35, in Greenback Tennessee during a tragic firework incident on July 4, 2024.

Matt was born in Maryville Tennessee and raised by parents Maggie and Raymond Beasley. He attended William Blount High School and graduated in 2008. He went on to work in a manager position at Food City and later spent the last 12 years of his life working in excavation which was his passion. He was also known to be a jack of all trades, truly one of the greatest handy men you could meet. Matthew was a kind, loving soul. He had a one of a kind personality that made him, him and a smile that could light up a room. He was a family guy who loved spending time outside, playing poker, and hanging with the boys. He was so loved and will be missed greatly.

Proceeded in death by parents Maggie and Raymond Beasley, and biological mother and father Kathy and Kay Sellars.

Survived by aunt and uncle Jim and Sue Bookout, aunt Teresa Blankenship Everett, cousins Scott (Liz) Bookout, Hannah (Keegan) Bookout-Fetner, Caleb Bookout, Blair Bookout, Jaycee Fetner, Christina Everett-Chapman, and Wesley Everett.

A celebration of life with be held for Matthew at Grace Adult Day Center (2607 Mayflower Dr, Maryville, TN 37801) from 2-5 pm on Sunday, July 14th.
