Michael “Mike” Scott Martin, age 63, of Etowah, departed this life on Monday, January 7, 2019 at Starr Regional Medical Center in Athens. Born on February 26, 1955 in Athens to the Speck and Billie Brock Martin, he had lived in Indiana for 20 years and then moved back to McMinn County in 1989. He was a member of IBEW#175 and was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed plying the drums, riding motorcycles, and spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Martin.
Survivors include his loving wife of 47 years, Debbie Ireland Martin; daughters, Nicole (Jeromy) Branham of Wisconsin, Julie(Bo)Palmer of Englewood; Carley (Robert)Watkins of Etowah; and Kelly Martin of Riceville; grandchildren, Amara Branham, Caitlin Branham, Jeremiah Branham, Dylan Palmer, Levi Palmer, Olivia Palmer,Deven Spurling, Andrew Spurling, Kenzie Watkins, Kayne Watkins,Theodore Spurling, Josiah Jack, and Easton Shelton sister, Linda Jo Martin of Benton; brother Ron(Paulie)Martin of Tuscon, Arizona; and sister-in-law, Charlie Martin of Athens; along with several nieces, nephews, and other extended family also survive.
A Celebration of Life and Home going for Mike Martin will be held at 8p.m. Saturday, January 12, 2018 from the chapel of Serenity Funeral Home with Minister Jeromy Branham officiating
The family will receive friends from 6-8p.m. on Saturday prior to the service.
