Myron Edsel McCamish , Sr.

Myron Edsel McCamish, Sr. age 76 of Newport, TN, departed this life on Thursday, January 10, 2010 at Newport Medical Center. Born on October 1, 1942 to the late R.W. and Maggie Carver McCamish, he was a native and lifelong resident of McMinn County before moving to Newport three years ago. He was the owner and operator of the Little Store with locations in Calhoun, Riceville and Athens, and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. After retirement from the grocery business, he was a truck driver for many years. he enjoyed farming and spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Will and Emma Carver; and his paternal grandparents, William D. and Eliza McCamish.

Survivors include his children, Sherry (Winston) Harris of Madisonville, M.E. McCamish, Jr. of Calhoun, and Jacqueline McCamish of Etowah;four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; and several extended family and friends also survive.

A Celebration of Life and Home going for Mr. Myron McCamish will be held at 2 p.m. On Tuesday, January 15, 2019 from the chapel of Serenity Funeral Home. with Pastor Kenneth Combs and Pastor Rodney Dunn officiating. Interment will immediately follow in the Calhoun Cemetery with a White Dove Release Ceremony concluding the services.

 The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Monday, January 14, 2019 at the funeral home.
