Nancy Ellen Kennedy Glass

Nancy Ellen Glass, beloved wife of Charles “Steve” Glass, peacefully passed away on December 22, 2023, at the age of 82. She was at her residence in Rockford, TN, surrounded by her loved ones. Nancy was born on March 3, 1941, in Rockford, Tennessee, to her parents Horace and Gladys Young. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, George Kennedy, her children Ricky Kennedy and Dianna Gail Farmer, and her siblings, Mary Travis and Cornell Young. 

Nancy was the pillar of her family, known for her heart of gold and her ability to make everyone she met feel like family. She never met a stranger and touched the lives of everyone she knew with her kind spirit and love. Her warm and caring nature left a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing her. 

Nancy is survived by her husband, Charles “Steve” Glass; sister, Linda McKenzie; children, Matthew Kennedy and Mark Kennedy; daughter-in-law, Tammy Kennedy; her special niece, Tammy Watkins; grandchildren, Nathan (Terri) Burns, Josh (Michelle) Burns, Christopher Garmon, Casey (Joel) Hartwell, Shane Kennedy, Sasha (Justin) Chaffin, Raevyn Tucker, Toni Hammons, Kristen Kennedy, Natia (Michael) Shrout, Ariana (Jacob) Bittles, Charlie Roberts (Fiancé Tylor), James Brogdon, and Markie Kennedy;r great-grandchildren, Tori, Maelee, Kennedy, Harper, Caiden, Emma-Jane, Olive-Rose, Ava-Lee, Odin, Jaden, Gavin, Atlas, Ricki, Alex, Gracie, Maya, Alexis, Courtney, Will, Wesley, Caitlyn, Grayson, Brayden, Coty, Roby, Joshua, Bailey, Khayson, Avery, Oliver, Ayva, Alyah, Hayden, Elaina, Ezekiel, Ariah, and Dakoda. She also leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

A ceremony to honor Nancy's life will be held at Rio East of Rockford, located at 3750 Old Knoxville Hwy, Rockford, TN 37853, on January 6, 2024, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The Reverend Dempsey Walker will be officiating the service. Friends and family are invited to attend and pay their respects to this remarkable woman who brought so much love and joy into the lives of those around her.
