Neil Coleman, age 67, of Knoxville, Tennessee, passed away Thursday, February 1, 2024 at his home in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Neil was born September 02, 1956 in Akron, Ohio, a son of Clinard and Thelma M. Coleman. He enlisted in the Navy at the age of 17 and served in Sardinia, Italy. He was a champion boxer while in the Navy. Neil came to live in Knoxville, by way of Dallas, TX and Oklahoma City, OK and was a resident of Knoxville for 18 years. Due to his love of animals, Neil's favorite job was working as a Humane Society Supervisor. He loved his Dachshund, Diddle and cat, Hobo. He was known for his great sense of humor and enthusiasm for the Tennessee Volunteers, especially when they played the Wildcats.
He is survived by his daughter, Brooke (Michael) Knott of Lexington, SC; sisters, Peggy Coleman, Kim Adkins; brother, Larry Coleman. He was a proud Nepaw to Jovanah Esquivel, Mikey and Landon Knott.
A Graveside Service will be held Monday, February 12, 2024, 12:30 PM at East Tennessee State Veteran Cemetery in Knoxville with Chaplin Phillip Groos officiating. Burial will immediately follow.
Neil was loved by many and will be missed by all.
