Patricia Ann Kirkland

Our precious mother Patricia Ann Kirkland, "Patti", sadly passed away June 29th, 2022. She gained her heavenly wings peacefully in her home surrounded by loved ones. Patti was born in Benton, TN on June 27th, 1938, and had just recently celebrated her 84th birthday with family. Patricia was a Christian of the Baptist faith. She was much loved and will be truly missed by many. Patti was a wonderful mother to her daughters and a brilliant, inspiring, funny, kind, and loving person. Patti was also an amazing wife to her loving husband, Chris Kirkland Jr. Together they shared a beautiful, simple life in Delano, TN at the foot of Starr Mountain. She enjoyed shopping, trips to Las Vegas, spending time with family, and going to Georgia with her sisters.

Patti is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Chris Kirkland Jr.; daughter, Rhonda Kirkland; grandson, Jesse James; granddaughter, Tara Johnson; father, Allen Norwood; mother, Ethel Norwood; sisters and brothers, Novella Norwood, Levosha Norwood, Edith Tallent, Joe Van Norwood, Barbara Prince, Felton "Spencer" Norwood, Lennie Kirkland, and Glenn Norwood.

Patricia is survived by her youngest brother, Roger Norwood; daughters, Kim Waldrop and Kathy Holt; son-in-law, Herman Holt;  grandchildren, Bridget Duke, Amanda Andrews, Adam Holt, and Aaron Holt; great grandchildren, Christopher Duke, Samuel Duke, Joseph Duke, Trey Andrews, Miley Andrews, Savannah Johnson, Trinity Johnson, and Madison Thomas.

Graveside service will be provided by Serenity Funeral Home of Etowah, TN at Coghill Baptist Church cemetery on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. with Deacon Rick Waters officiating.
