Reverend Michael Lee Best

Reverend Michael Lee Best, 64, passed away on Friday, January 22, 2021, at his home in Madisonville surrounded by his loving family.  At the age of seventeen years old, Michael was called into the service of the Lord.  He was a pastor of the following churches: Union Hall Baptist, Mount Vernon Baptist, South Liberty Baptist, and Rockview Baptist.  As Michael faithfully served the Lord, God broadened his call to evangelism as he shared the gospel in the following countries: Brazil, India, and Nigeria.  Also, he was a member of Church on the Rock in Etowah.

First and foremost, Michael was a man who loved his family dearly.  He worked diligently to provide for them.  Along with loving God and his family, Michael also was an outdoorsman.  He was an avid deer hunter enabling him to bless many people with food.  He also enjoyed golfing with his buddies. 

For the last year of his life, Michael battled pancreatic cancer.  His faith never wavered.  He savored the moments he had with his family and friends.  Michael is survived by his wife, Sharon; his children, Angela (Kevin) LeDuc, Chrissy (Tracy) Maxwell, Matthew “Shane” (Becky) Voyles, Jared “Nathan” (Angel) Voyles.  He is also survived by five grandchildren: Karis LeDuc, Lincoln LeDuc, Maddox Voyles, Ruby Voyles, and Ozzy Voyles.  In addition, he is survived by his mother, Geneva Best, and his brother, Dale Best.

Michael is preceded in death by: grandparents, Jake and Dorothy Devine, Fred and Grace Best; father, Garland Best; son, Brian Best. 

There will be a graveside service open to family and friends held on Saturday, February 6, 2021, at 2:00 pm at Haven Hill Memorial Gardens in Madisonville, TN., with J.C. Allen officiating.
