Ronald Albert Bobilin, 63, of Tellico Plains, Tn. Died on February 2, 2020 after a 19-month battle of Pancreatic and Lung Cancer. He never fought so hard for anything in his life as he did to fight this disease, every option given to him by the many doctors he never said no. He fought with grace and kindness along with the Chemo and radiation he worked until he just did not have the energy to go on working fulltime, then he went part time for as long as he could.
Ron was born in Amsterdam, New York and raised at Bobilin Boat Works (Owner Albert Bobilin, Grandfather), Mayfield, New York until he was 6 years old then his parents moved to Ft Lauderdale, Fl. relocating to West Palm Beach, Florida in 1961. He started in February 1978 as a delivery driver for Pepsi Cola Palm Beach-Ft Lauderdale working his way up to Sales then Management in 1986 then he retired in August 2005. Ron and Sharon then moved to Tellico Plains, Tn in Oct 2005. His first goal was to get his GED which he did in October 2006. Ron attended North Tech School in Riviera Beach, Fl for his High School years earning many certificates for different trades. In December 2005, the trades he learned were used as he started night shift at Mill Products Inc. in order to complete his classes for his GED. Ron loved his job and worked at Mill products until August 2019, he always planned to go back to work but the cancer took its toll and he could no longer work. Ron had a strong work ethic and passed it on to his children in that we are all truly blessed. He phases “never say never” is one of the blessings he passed to his family.
His hobbies were boating and fishing along with woodwork. Fishing every chance, he got right up to November 2019.
Ron meet his wife Sharon Miller Bobilin in Fall of 1972 and were married in October 1975 and still married to this day.
Ron is survived by his wife Sharon and his children, Joyll M Wolters (husband Jason Wolters deceased Oct 25, 2018 of Pancreatic Cancer) West Palm Beach, Fl and Nicholas A Bobilin his Wife Alecea of West Palm Beach, FL., Along with 5 grandchildren, Kimberly and Victoria Wolters, Noelle Bobilin and Izabelle and Jordan.
Ron was one of four children, He is survived by his Twin Brother Donald Bobilin, sister Patricia Dixon and sister Janice Cummings (deceased}. Parents Robert and Marjorie (McDonald) Bobilin (deceased).
Ron was also blessed with a lot of family on both sides Bobilin and Miller along with McDonalds.
Many nieces and nephews, Great Nephews and Nieces and Aunts. He had the pleasure of seeing and speaking to a lot of them in the last year. He was an all-out Family man with a heart of warmth. He was blessed to have a niece be with us the last week of his life and it was a great comfort to him that she was here to ease the load.
We will Celebrate his life on February 15, 2020 at Serenity Funeral Home in Etowah, TN., Gathering of Friends at 3 pm and Memorial Service at 4.
The Family asks that all donations in lieu of flowers go to Relay for Life, Sponsor Mills Products Inc., McMinn County, TN in Memory of Ronald Bobilin. Ron walked this walk last year 2019 with Cancer survivors and Cancer patients and it meant a lot to him.
