Ron Hughes, age 67, of Dayton, departed this life on Sunday, August 11, 2019 at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga. A native of Delano, he lived in Dayton the last fifteen years and was an active member of Smyrna Baptist Church. Ron retired from the Tennessee Highway Patrol after 33 years of service and loved playing guitar and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Shady and Tilda Frady Hughes.
Ron is survived by his daughters, Shannon(Scott) Wade of Englewood and Myranda(Brian) Hamby of Dayton; grandchildren, Reagan Wade, Cam Wade, Maddux Hamby, and Solona Hamby; sisters, Beatrice Yarber of Englewood and Sue Stiles of Etowah; brother, Mike Hughes of Delano; nephew, Denny Stiles; nieces, Jennifer Adkins and Kristy Darnell; and close friend Lillie McDowell of Dayton.
A Celebration of Life and Home going for Ronald William Hughes will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, August 13, 2019 from the chapel of Serenity Funeral Home with Brother Roger Rothwell officiating. Interment will follow in the Delano Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers and the Honor Guard provided by the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
The family will receive friends from 4p.m. - 6p.m. on Tuesday prior to the service
