Shannon “Kevi” Payne, 57 of Etowah, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, August 3, 2022. Though taken unexpectedly, Kevi was surrounded by her family, and her memory will live on in the hearts of many family members and friends.
With a great sense of humor and strong love for others, Kevi was a joy to all who knew her. Kevi was a loving daughter, sister, cousin, aunt, and friend to the many lives that she touched. As a registered nurse, Kevi used her humor to heal and took great care of her many patients throughout her career. One of Kevi’s greatest joys in life was her companionship with her beloved dogs, Marci and Max of whom she took the best of care. Kevi accepted Christ at the age of 12. She walked in faith throughout her life, at last falling into the arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ.
Kevi has reunited with her grandmother, Cleo Payne; grandfather, Paul Payne; mother, Donna Carter; step-father, Tim Carter; sister, Shawn Sanson; brother-in-law, Mike Sanson; brother-in-law, William Malone; Aunt, Nancy Sargent; great-niece, Emma Jo; and her “baby girl”, Marcie (dog).
Already missing her, but cherishing their memories are her father, Johnny Payne; sister, Kourtney Payne Hutcheson; love of her life, David Pryor; her nieces, Sara Woods, Kelly Sanson, and Whitney Rowland, her nephews, Alex Sanson, Kaden Sanson, and Chandler Hutcheson, as well as, her many beloved cousins, great-nephews and nieces and her cherished friends. She will especially be missed by her best friend Max (dog).
Family will be receiving friends from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. with funeral service following at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, August 7, 2022 in the chapel of Serenity Funeral Home in Etowah with Reverend Kenzil Hooker officiating.
