Beloved Mom, Grandma, Mimi, Sister, Aunt, Friend and Compassionate Educator. Sharon Laurelle Keith Rodriguez went to her eternal home on March 18th 2020. She leaves behind her three children Rachel Richards, Kelly Rodriguez, and Daron Rodriguez; her loving grandkids Taylor, JD, Sophie, Eli, Dutch, and Hermione; her brother Bill; sister Jean; daughter in-law Stacey and son in-law Don; and her beloved dog Mister.
She also leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, the joy of learning, and the importance of always being a positive light and love to others. Sharon joins her mother Jeanne (Bubby), father William (Sweet), and sister Joanie along with the many others that preceded her.
Sharon was a dedicated educator for over 40 years and while she may not have been in the classroom any longer, she was continually a resource to many for support, love, guidance, encouragement and selflessness. While teaching, most recently in the Polk County School district where she was named "Teacher of the Year" twice, she impacted the lives of many students and all those she came in contact with. Sharon was also seen as a mother and grandmother to many outside of just her family. In Sharon’s generous spirit and compassion may her messages live on--be kind, share laughter, live a life of strong faith, love one another, support each other in times of difficulty, always be learning/enriching your soul, and give God praise.
She will be dearly missed by her family and the thousands of lives she has touched, and although she is physically gone, she will continue to be an angel to many. As a woman of great faith and spirituality, there is no doubt she is rejoicing with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. By her wishes she has chosen to be remembered by how she impacted our lives rather than a service. Due to circumstances related to the effects the Corona Virus has had on travel and health risks, Sharon would not want anyone risking illness for a farewell. To that end, the family asks you to remember her through your memories, sharing stories, much laughter, and spreading love as Sharon has with all of you. The family hopes to celebrate her life with a memorial service in the future. In lieu of flowers, donate to your local humane society, help one another, give a hug, spread love, share laughter, and always be willing to help those less fortunate as she did throughout her life.
