Shirley Carol Wong

Shirley Carol Wong, age 79, passed away Sunday, March 12, 2023, peacefully surrounded by family and love. She loved making arts and crafts and giving them to friends and family as gifts. She adored and loved her family with a passion and would always put her family first. She literally had a heart of gold.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence “Wongi” Wong; mother, Filemina Scott; brother, James Carfo; grandson, Robert Coffey.

She is survived by her sisters, Annette Miller and Cathy Scott; daughters, Salina Godwin, Ommo (Charles) Anderson and Frankie (Rick) Erickson; grandchildren, Shelley Greene, Sammantha Hayes, Chantel Anderson, Ashley Whitener Killebrew and Carl Miller; bonus grandson, Trent Martin; uncle and aunt, John and Marie Lupo; several nieces, nephews and many friends, including special friends, Ronnie and Will Rankin, Anita Mcanally and Ben Manzano; sister-in-law, Carolyn Smith; cousins, Carmen and Marco Scardina.

Family will be receiving friends Saturday, March 18, 2023 in the Chapel at Serenity Funeral Home in Etowah, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Funeral Service at 1:00 p.m. with Preacher Randy Collins officiating. Interment immediately following service at Green Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers include: David Smith, John Smith, Rick Erickson, Carl Miller, DeMarcus Killebrew and Trent Martin.
