Timothy Lynn Barrett, age 70, passed away on Saturday, October 23, 2021 surrounded by his loved ones.
Lynn was born in Toccoa, Georgia. He was a graduate of Roane County High School and the University of Tennessee. Lynn retired from Zampell Refractories as a seasoned salesman and had spent the last few years of his life writing a book focusing on the end days and was looking to have it published when he became ill. He was known for his love of grilling and smoking meats, as well as his famous Mr. Hamburger sauce and rubs. The family owned a BBQ restaurant called Luckenbach’s in Birmingham, AL, where he developed his love of smoking.
Most importantly, he was a Godly man. While living in Tampa, Florida he became a deacon at First Baptist Church of New Tampa. He sang in the choir and organized several church/Sunday school events. Recently, he was a member of Delano Baptist Church.
He adored his family and friends. He was always there to listen or lend a helping hand. Lynn had a huge heart, a gentle spirit and always a story to tell.
