Vernie L.C. Taylor

Vernie Taylor, age 96, of Cleveland, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, April 2, 2022. He enjoyed fishing, camping, mowing his grass and playing with his little dog Buddy. He also loved to tend his garden especially his tomatoes and peppers.

Preceded in death by loving wife of 69 years, Mary “Cat” Taylor; brothers, Ulyus, Floyd and Verlon Taylor; stepson, Darel Hicks; nephews, Wally and Ivan Wayne Taylor.

Survivors include, son and ex-wife, Steve (Wilma) Taylor of Cleveland; brother, Alvin Taylor; nieces, Karen Taylor Raines, Kathy Sanford and Sandy Taylor; nephew, Roger Taylor.

Funeral Services will be conducted Thursday, April 7, 2022 at 2:00pm in the Chapel of Serenity of Etowah with Pastor Tazz Reid officiating. Interment will follow in Campground Cemetery in Reliance with Charles Orr, Aaron Parker, Chuck Ingram, George Underwood, Robert Boyd and James Dobbs serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6-9 pm in the Chapel of Serenity of Etowah.
