Willie Buckner Land, age 91 of Etowah, went to her heavenly home on Monday morning, April 8, 2019.
A native & lifelong resident of McMinn County; a member of Lighthouse Church in Madisonville. Willie was retired from Morgan Manufacturing of Etowah, and then going back to work at Curtis Sportswear and officially retired at age 71.
She was a strong willed & independent woman, driving her little green truck until she was 90 years old. Willie had an uplifting personality and was a giving person who enjoyed spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Maggie Mae and Jess Buckner; and her husband Johnny Ross Land and her sister Ray.
She is survived by ten children, Steve, Brenda Joyce, Bill, Paul, Mike, Tony, Patricia, Sandra, Teresa, and Kathy; 102 Grandkids, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
A Celebration of her Life and Home going will be conducted at 1:30 p.m., Sunday April 14, 2019 with Pastor Sandra Tallent officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:30-1:30 p.m. prior to the service in the Chapel of the Funeral Home in Etowah.
Interment will follow in McMinn Memory Gardens with Aaron Brinkley, Matthew Brinkley, Jeremy Allman, Jeff Land, Tony Land and Billy Land serving as pallbearers.
